I had been building a media business with my husband while working a full-time job. I spent my days as a social media specialist for a financial planning firm for millennials. I loved the nature of the job, office happy-hours, the freedom and stability. 

After getting a promotion to become a part of the leadership team along with a raise, life was good. One day my boss pulled me aside and said that the business wasn't doing well and our time was coming to an end. I couldn't believe it. My first big girl job was over.

I immediately filed for unemployment and went on the job hunt looking for another creative job to throw myself into. I was quickly hired as a social media manager at a printing company. Within months of being hired, the creative department (aka me and two others) were let go. What are the freakin' odds.

There I was again, without a job but this time was different. We were shocked to find out that we were indeed PREGNANT with our first baby and I was still without a job. My husband at the time was just beginning to get his feet wet at the car dealership and we really needed two incomes.

At that point, I knew I had to just sit, feel all the emotions and pray.  

It was revealed to me that I was simply afraid to go all in with my own company.

I had been hiding behind other companies to protect myself from the fear of failure. What if I put my all into my business and it flopped? What if I wasn't successful? What if I couldn't provide for my new and growing family?

That's when it hit me. I was not the exception. I was watching my friends, mentors and others I followed on Instagram step into their dreams and cast all fears. It was working for them so why couldn't it work for me too?

I got serious about my craft, I invested the little bit that we had to create better systems, I learned from friends and mentors, put my work and expertise out there and really made thing happen. More importantly I made the decision to cast my fears upon the Lord. I had to trust that he would see me through my wildest dreams and provide for my growing family in the midst of it all and let me tell you. He has never let me down.
